New: Snapshots

Starting with iPhoto 5 the adjust-palette offers a new way to fine tune your photos. Sliders allow to change the brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness and other properties of a photo. Which properties are available depends on your computer.

If you want to apply the same change to several photos, you had to write down the slider positons of the first photo and then apply them manually to all other photos one by one. iPhoto Batch Enhancer 2 allows you to take a snapshot of a photo's slider positions and apply that to as many photos as you like.

To create a snapshot of the current adjust-palette in iPhoto do the following:
  1. Click on the button +. Important: If you edit your photos in Full Screen Mode, the adjust-palette is being closed when you activate a different application. Please edit your photos in the main window when you want to create a snapshot. You can toggle this setting in the iPhoto preferences.
  2. The name of the new snapshot is taken from the current photo in iPhoto.
Tip: To delete the current snapshot, simply click on the button -.
  • To change a name or a value of a snapshot click on the button Editieren and enter the new values:
  • The application of a snapshot to several photos in iPhoto can be found in the chapter Batch conversion.
  • if you want to duplicate a snapshot to edit its values manually afterwards simply use the Duplicate snapshot command in the File menu.
Tip: To copy your snapshots to a different computer simply use the save and load commands of the File menu.

Snapshots and Photos in RAW format

When using iPhoto 6 with Mac OS X 10.4 or later the adjust-palette allows special values for temperature, tint and exposure. Snapshots of RAW photos are labeled as Format: RAW.
  • Temperature and tint can be turned off via checkboxes, so they are not applied to other photos.
  • The preferences window allows you to control the behaviour of RAW and standard snapshots. Of course RAW snapshots are always applied to RAW photos and standard snapshots as well to standard photos.
    1. When you choose Convert values temperature, tint and exposure of RAW snapshots are being translated for standard photos and vice versa.
    2. When you choose to Skip photos when types don't match standard photos are being skipped when you apply RAW snapshots and RAW photos are being skipped when you apply standard snapshots.
